Lesson 3 of 5
How to Play:
Gameplay Flow
Master the turn sequence, claiming discards, and winning.
Your Turn
Each turn follows a simple three-step cycle:
Get a Tile
Either Draw from the wall
or Claim a discarded tile.
Arrange your hand
Organize your tiles into potential melds.
Discard
Discard one tile to end your turn.
Drawing
Draw a tile from the wall.
If it's a flower, place it face up, and draw a new tile from the flower-wall side.
(keep going until you get a non-flower).
To end your turn, discard a tile from your hand.
Claiming
Instead of drawing from the wall, you can claim the last tile discarded by another player ONLY if it completes a meld.
CHOW
A sequence of three tiles (e.g., 1-2-3) of the same suit.
You can only claim CHOW from the player to your LEFT.
PONG
Three identical tiles.
Unlike CHOW, you can claim a PONG from ANY player.
KANG
Four identical tiles.
Like PONG, you can claim it from ANY player.
When claiming a tile, you must reveal the meld, by putting it face up on the table.
If you claimed a KANG, you must draw an extra tile from the flower-side of the wall.
To end your turn, discard a tile from your hand.
Winning
Winning by TODAS
TODAS is when you win using a discard from any player. This completes your hand (17th tile) and ends the game!
Winning by BUNOT
BUNOT is when you draw the winning tile yourself from the wall.
Claim Priority
If multiple players want the same discard, the following priority determines who gets it:
Winning takes precedence over everything.
Takes precedence over a CHOW.
Lowest priority.
If multiple players have the same claim, the player whose turn is next in the sequence gets it.
Tie Game
The game continues until someone wins or the wall has no more tiles.
If the last wall tile is drawn and no one wins, it is a Tie.
